Groundsmen’s lives just got better
An innovative new design set to make groundsmen's lives a lot easier was launched today.
The groundbreaking NetLok from leading sports equipment manufacturer Mark Harrod Ltd, is a trio of clips that slot into aluminium goalposts and crossbars to provide unbeatable net security.
The company, which has a strong record in goal post safety, will send NetLoks in team colours to Premiership and Championship clubs in a bid to improve pitch safety.
The NetLok was designed for heavy use facilities and especially on freestanding goals used on synthetic or academy pitches.
Mark Harrod said: "Traditional net hooks have always been a headache for groundsmen when using freestanding goals. They can twist and turn with every goal before finally falling off and creating an instant safety hazard. Finding and replacing them is a time-consuming and frustrating task."
Mark Harrod, who has more than 30 years experience as a manufacturer and supplier of sports equipment, is a leading advocate of sports safety with all equipment conforming to the latest British and European Standards.
As well as sponsoring grassroots events from the Staffordshire County Youth Cup to the Birmingham County FA Sunday Youth Cup, the Mark Harrod Ltd name can be seen at clubs including Chelsea FC and the Ricoh Arena.
Did you know?
The fastest shot ever recorded to have resulted in a goal was David Hirst's 114mph strike for Sheffield Wednesday against Arsenal on September 16, 1996.
Mark Harrod said: "No matter what speed the ball hits the net, the NetLok ensures that the net stays firmly in place."
