Have your say at SALTEX on the use of recycled products

Chance to win £1,000 worth of green goodies

Eighty six per cent of the landscaping industry now has a positive attitude towards compost produced from recycled garden waste, according to a landscaping market assessment study carried out this year by WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme)

Yet, there are still some challenges to overcome before compost is adopted by the majority of landscape professionals as the product of choice. That is why, at this year's Saltex, WRAP is conducting an on-stand poll to find out what visitors really think about using compost, and other products made from recycled materials such as tyres and plastic.

Members of the landscaping industry will be able to visit WRAP on Stand H31 at Saltex to have their say and to find out more about how recycled products can be used in a range of landscaping projects. For those who take part in the survey, there will be the chance to win £1,000 worth of recycled products. The results of the survey, along with the winner, will be announced on Thursday September 7th at Saltex.

For those not attending Saltex, the survey can also be accessed via WRAP's Landscaping Portal - www.wrap.org.uk/landscaping. Visitors to the portal can also find further information about the applications and uses of products relevant to the landscape sector, along with information on local suppliers of recycled products.

The study, entitled 'Assessment of Use of Recycled Products in the UK Landscape industry 2005/6', was written by Arthur D Little and produced by WRAP. 641 individuals, companies and organisations within the UK landscaping industry were surveyed in March 2006 to examine attitudes and usage of recycled products, and to assess the industry's awareness of sources of information about these materials. A copy of the study can be obtained via www.wrap.org.uk/organics
