Inside Fab's Fortress
This is the first glimpse inside the incredible fortress where Fabio Capello will mastermind England's quest for World Cup glory.
With a super-luxurious hotel, six floodlit football pitches, a made-to-order medical centre and Fort Knox-style security, the England team will want for nothing at their South African base.
Capello's staff will start arriving this week at the secluded highaltitude site - with the players due on June 3. It had been feared the £20million complex in the barren bush of South Africa's North West might not be ready in time. Much was still half-built by February.
But as our exclusive pictures show, the site is now worthy of the £1million England are paying for it to be Capello's World Cup nerve centre. A spokesman for the hotel, built by Africa's richest tribe the Royal Bafokengs, said: "We always said we would be ready for England. The hotel looks fantastic and we can't wait for England to settle in."
