Kubota expands turfcare lineup
Kubota has strengthened its commitment to the professional turf sector with the launch of several new machines designed to meet the evolving needs of grounds teams and greenkeepers.
Responding to market demand, the company has expanded its turfcare offering from two to seven models, providing a broader choice of working widths, discharge options and fuel types across a wide range of applications.
At a press event this week, the Kubota team showcased the expanded portfolio, outlining how the additions help fill previous gaps in the range and deliver a more complete equipment solution for turf professionals maintaining high-quality playing surfaces.
For many within the industry, Kubota has long been associated with reliability, robust engines and dependable compact tractors. However, the manufacturer acknowledged that certain areas of the turfcare market - particularly mid-range and specialist mowing applications - required further development. The latest announcement signals a confident step into those sectors.
Kubota’s zero-turn mower lineup combines high manoeuvrability with consistent cut performance, making it a popular choice across sports turf, amenity and municipal environments. With the addition of five new machines, the range now offers significantly greater flexibility for contractors and in-house grounds teams alike.
The ZE Zero-Turn mower range represents the latest addition to Kubota’s expanding electric portfolio, joining machines such as the RT220-2e compact wheel loader and the LXe-261 compact tractor. The ZD1211 prioritises efficiency with a 60” cutting width and hydraulic-lift deck. Its suspension seat means greater comfort and less operator fatigue and these machines introduce several performance-focused upgrades, including:
- Electronic fuel injection for stable power delivery under load
- Improved blade-tip speed retention for consistent cut quality
- Revised deck airflow to improve clipping evacuation in damp conditions
- Enhanced frame rigidity to reduce vibration transfer to the operator

Matt Wilson, Product Manager – Groundcare (pictured above), explained to members of the press: “The new models form part of a long-term strategy to provide turf professionals with a more complete, reliable and versatile equipment pathway - one that reflects the pressures and expectations of today’s turfcare environment. While the initial hurdle of upfront investment remains in some cases, the reaction to the ZE range in the UK has been very positive, with machines performing at or beyond expectations.”
“The latest additions focus on the areas turf teams care about most: cut quality, consistency, productivity operator comfort and durability under heavy workloads. One size fits all no longer works for everyone. Improved ergonomics and smarter efficiency features also reflect the wider industry shift towards equipment that reduces operator fatigue while supporting precision turf management.”
Matt added: “The next step is to focus on our range of compatible attachments, to reinforce our aim of providing a fully integrated turfcare solution. New additions to our portfolio will help maximise utilisation while reducing the need for multiple standalone units.”
What this all means for customers and dealers
Growth creates choice, confidence and continuity
For customers:
- Easier to scale up within the brand
- Familiar operation across ranges
- Long-term partnership, not single-product purchases
For dealers:
- Wider appeal across customer types
- Clear upgrade paths
- Stronger retention and lifetime value
The portfolio expansion follows a period of increased activity for Kubota across Europe, with continued investment in dealer support and engineering development aligned with the needs of modern sports turf, golf and municipal maintenance. Industry observers have already highlighted Kubota’s growing emphasis on operator-centric design and future-ready technology - momentum the latest launches continue to build upon.
For grounds teams, the message is clear: Kubota is positioning itself as a comprehensive turfcare partner rather than solely a tractor manufacturer. By strengthening the core of its mowing range, expanding attachment capability and introducing specialist equipment options, the company aims to support everything from fine turf presentation to heavy-duty maintenance across large estates, sports venues and public spaces.
