Going on summer tour for the team at dealer T H White's Grass Care Division turned out to be a festival of activity with no wellingtons in sight…

During the last four weeks personnel from T H White depots at Redditch, Reading, Knockdown and Timsbury took a range of Wiedenmann equipment - including the all new Core Recycler -on a tour of the midlands and south west. Starting at Gaudet Luce GC in Droitwich they then headed for North Hants GC at Fleet in Hampshire, then Romsey GC near Southampton and finally finishing up at Bristol GC.

Wiedenmann UK Sales Manager, Chas Ayres, right, led the demonstrations, in particular looking at the of the core recycler.
"Using the Terra Spike GXi 6 we hollow-cored a full green with fine 12 mm tines. Next we lifted the cores using the new core recycler.

The core recycler has a series of four adjustable sieves - all made of robust steel mesh which were set to accommodate individual conditions. Each sieve moves uniformly and has been designed not to clog.

The powered sieves receive the cores which travel their full length. As the cores propel along the sieves, the soil and sand content separates from the fibrous content which accumulates in the hoppers while the soil and sand mix falls back to the ground.

During the tour the recycled content varied from 40 % to 70 %.
"Already a handful of these machines are already installed across the UK and reporting fabulous results and so we set up these events so everyone could get an up close look at the processes involved," he said.

Key Account Sales Manager at T H White, Alun Wright, said: "I think we totalled just over 80 guests across the tour which made it all worthwhile.

The Terra Spike aerators do such a precise job and seeing the core recycler return so much volume to the floor of the green was quite an eye opener. I'm told that the resident course managers at the venues we visited were genuinely happy with our morning's work!"
