Mulching its way through the work

Tony Hawkinsin Industry News

The new Wessex ProLine RMX triple deck mowers are not only the ultimate in wide area mowing, they also cut a dash when fitted with ProMulcher mulching blade tips. In drier summer weather and drought conditions it pays to mulch the grass to help protect it and inject nourishment for fresh growth.

The optional ProMulcher blade tips fit all Wessex ProLine RMX mowers, bolting on in place of the standard blade tips. The benefits can be clearly seen. Cut grass flows up and over the blade onto the mulching edges which shred and pulverise the grass clippings. They get sliced and heavily bruised to leave a fine mulch, promoting fast breakdown and decomposition to provide nutrients and help fertilise the standing grass. It's a fast and environmentally friendly method of dealing with large areas, made even faster with the use of the Wessex RMX triple mowers.

The result is a premium cut at high speeds and there are the added benefits in using a roller mower of less maintenance, a saving of both time and money, together with a reduction of as much as 50% in fuel costs. The new-generation Wessex RMX-560 and RMX-680 are the ideal choice for councils, local authority contractors, sports complexes and other large amenity areas. Requiring no electro-hydraulics, and with no electric clutches, these professional roller mowers will leave a finish equal to a cylinder mower on fine turf, at a fraction of the cost.

The transmission system allows wings to be engaged and disengaged whilst in work, without a clutch mechanism. They offer versatility too. With independent wing control they are operational with one wing lifted and the folding wings can cut gradients from -30° to +30° with the middle deck remaining on the ground. Turf tyres offer minimal ground compaction and there is independent suspension for smooth road travel.

There are double taper roller bearings in all rollers and they also stripe the grass for a premium finish. The RMX triple mowers are available in 5.6m and 6.8m working widths and the machines come in the new Wessex livery, celebrating 50 years of quality manufacturing in Britain.
