New face bolsters Kawasaki power products
Kawasaki has strengthened its UK power products operation with the appointment of a new manager to co-ordinate business growth throughout the country.
Chris York joins the Japanese manufacturer as Product Manager, Power Products UK and will be responsible for developing existing dealer relationships and building new areas of growth.
Based in Northampton, York knows the grounds-care industry well both from a practical and professional perspective. He grew up the son of a groundsman at a local cricket club and has been working with machines since the age of ten and remains an ardent cricketer today.
Having worked in the industry for more than 20 years, York knows the turfcare sector well in every capacity from assembly through to sales and after sales.
It's this breadth of experience in the sector and a passion for the business that he intends to bring to Kawasaki's power products range.
"There's a lot of scope to develop the dealer network in the UK. It has considerable potential and one of my main aims will be to help create a much stronger relationship between the dealer network and professional users, professional gardeners and local authorities," he says.
"My focus is purely on power products and the professional grounds-care sector and I intend to visit every dealer and start working with them and helping them to build business steadily and take it forward.
"There are clearly going to be challenges, but the Kawasaki brand is strong and the products hugely respected. They're high quality and reliable pieces of machinery and that message keeps coming back loud and clear," he adds.
"All of this is backed up by the warranty figures which are minimal so the dealers know they're working with a quality product from the outset. They're Kawasaki's so they're buying reliability with every product purchased."
