hayterLeading lawnmower manufacturer, Hayter, has appointed Norbert Dentressangle to distribute its wide range of mechanical lawn care products to retailers across the UK.

As a pioneer of the rotary lawnmower, Hayter has been synonymous with British grass cutting since 1946 and over the years the company has become a household name with a reputation for manufacturing high quality mowers. Following sustained growth, Hayter was acquired by US based The Toro Company in 2005.

To reduce its overall distribution costs and deliver an improved service, the company turned to Norbert Dentressangle for expert help in establishing a much more flexible transport solution via its national shared-user pallet network.

Neil Oxborrow, Hayter's Materials Manager, comments: "Norbert Dentressangle has provided us with a cost-effective transport solution that ensures we can offer a reliable, next day service to all of our stockists across the UK.

"We also have full visibility of the supply chain using the company's bespoke SHARP (Shipment Handling and Reporting Program) technology, which allows us to easily track and trace our orders online and respond to any customer enquires both quickly and effectively."

Norbert Dentressangle makes daily pallet collections of a wide range of rotary lawnmower machinery, including ride on mowers and tractors, from Hayter's manufacturing facility at Spellbrook, near Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire.

Next day deliveries of consolidated loads are then made to the company's retail stockists, which include regional chains and independents situated all over the country. The operation also has the flexibility to accommodate rising volumes prior to and during the peak trading spring and summer months.
