With the first event in the MAP Live series now less than 1 week away, news of still more participants and speakers pours in. The latest pioneering companies to come on board are STRI, Fleet Line Markers (now in their 60th Anniversary year) with goalposts supplied by Mark Harrod are the latest, with still more news pending.

All on the theme of how to achieve excellent results on sports and amenity open spaces when headcount and budget have been slashed, it fits the requirements of hard-pressed buyers from local authorities, parish councils, contractors and sports venues. Limited time, decreasing budgets and manpower are now the norm for buyers in our sector

STRI Project Manager Darra Hudner will be presenting the latest techniques and advances in sports turf management, along with some interesting stories on his role in preparing the equestrian course for the Olympics 2012 and preparing the pitches for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. Carolyn Beadsmoore, Head of Sales & Marketing, explains:

"STRI is pleased to announce their support for the MAP Live 2013 events running across the UK from April to July. One of STRI's aims is to share information and knowledge and these events support that goal and provide a platform for learning in the industry at a regional level. STRI encourages all sports turf managers to attend to see first-hand the latest techniques, machinery and products being used for effective and sustainable turf management."

Fleet (Line Markers) Ltd. are generally recognised as market leaders and innovators across the world. They will be marking out 6 scaled-down pitches for various sports in the BAGMA demo arena at each event, and Mark Harrod portable goalposts can also be seen on one of the pitches at Stoneleigh.

As Iain Courage of Fleet notes : "When recognised as the best, the best way to prove it is by demonstration days such as MAP Live. So when asked to take part in MAP Live's 6 events, Fleet leapt at the opportunity. The best way to prove the product is to demonstrate the product. More and more customers are finding that Fleet products can save them money over competitors products as they can be diluted a lot further to achieve a similar, arguably better result, on the ground. "

The 6 free one-day events provide the growing list of delegates with a unique opportunity to keep abreast of latest advice on cost effective best practice relevant to the current market. Visitors can claim CPD points and also have the chance to win an iPad and the most reliable weather forecasts on the planet from Weather Action by registering free at www.mapliveltd.co.uk

Matthew Hoggard, ex-England cricketer, will be one of the speakers at the first event at Stoneleigh Park on 24th April, talking about the importance of sports surfaces. Another notable speaker will be Piers Corbyn, the owner of Weather Action. The company makes weather forecasts up to a year in advance, and which Piers also used to bet on, before being barred for making too much money.

Touring the UK from late April to mid-July combining short, sharp seminar bursts with demo, the latest participants show its relevance to both manufacturers and dealers of kit, consumables, services and expertise. To catch the latest news go to @maplive2013
