Onwards and upwards!
Sports surface specialist total-play Ltd is marking a period of sustained growth with a key addition to the management team. Colin McBeth will take on the newly created role of Operations Manager; with responsibilities that include labour force management, planning jobs and timescales, liaising with customers throughout works, the organisation of materials, health & safety and risk assessments.
Colin will also work closely with Project Manager James Coney and Managing Director David Bates to win new business in existing new markets, including synthetic sports surfaces and natural fine turf.
Colin studied for an ND in Sports Turf Management at Cannington College in Somerset before working in course management at major golf institutions at home and on the continent where he continued his studies and gained a Foundation Degree in Sports Turf Management. He then joined a leading UK sports turf contractor where he worked on construction and refurbishment projects for high-profile clients that include BSF, The Royal Parks, golf courses and cricket clubs. This broad experience makes Colin the perfect fit for his new role at total-play, as MD David Bates explains:
"It's been a busy year at total-play - we've strengthened our ground team to cope with the increased workload and now we need additional support at management level to continue providing the excellent customer service we are so proud of. We believe in recruiting experienced professionals - and having worked on 'both sides of the fence' as it were, Colin will fully understand our clients' needs. He's a great addition to the team and we look forward to working with Colin on the numerous exciting projects we have in the pipeline."
