Oxford University Parks Department have no less than ten Billy Goat Vacuum Sweepers of different models. The Parks use both push and self-propelled units as part of their machinery arsenal maintaining 76 university sites and parks covering a total of 276 acres in and around the city of dreaming spires.

Two Billy Goat Truck Loaders also feature in the maintenance programme, being used for collecting the tons of leaves falling around the parks plus the wood chippings/sawdust from the continuous tree surgery operations.

The rest of the Billy Goat fleet is generally used for leaf collection and in the summer months, tree droppings and some litter clearance.

Parks Superintendent is Walter Sawyer, a veteran of fourteen years in the post. Walter oversees 28 employees and in addition to the University Parks upkeep the Department has a thriving Contract business maintaining a hundred locations from 10/15-acre sites right down to office size plots.

The contract business offers landscaping, tree surgery, small nursery and grass cutting facilities and uses its Billy Goats not only in 11 college residential locations but many private and commercial gardens around the Oxfordshire catchment area.

Walter commented, "Having the Billy Goats has made keeping the parks tidy absolute child's play. We have a variety of models for the many different areas and conditions in which we operate. The machines were supplied and are maintained by local dealer P A Turney who, I have to say look after us really well."
