Protea Mowers dominate World Cup 2010
South African manufacturer Protea Turf Equipment was by far the biggest supplier of pedestrian mowers for the World Cup in 2010, outselling its biggest rival by over three times!
A total of 87 model 914HD 36-inch 8-blade pedestrian cylinder mowers were supplied and performed the lion's share of the World Cup mowing duties, including the prestigious Soccer City stadium, venue for the opening match and the final.
"The Protea 914HD was selected for its proven ability to provide a very high quality of cut on a variety of grass surfaces, including the tough kikuyu", said Managing Director Bert Kollnick. "Buying decisions were not based on price, although our machines are far cheaper than the competition. Performance and reliability were key factors. We provided round-the-clock factory support to the groundsmen but every machine performed faultlessly and no service calls were necessary throughout the tournament."
The Protea 914HD is part of an extensive range of mowers & scarifiers suitable for cricket, bowls, golf, football and quality lawns available in the UK and Europe at highly competitive prices via the official distributors Rivendell Projects Ltd.
