Ransomes Highway triple mowers tame lawns at Longleat
A Ransomes Highway 3 triple mower, supplied by local Ransomes Jacobsen dealer TH White Ltd, is being used at Longleat, the residence of the Marquess of Bath, to maintain the lawns surrounding his magnificent English stately home.
Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc (NYSE: TXT) company and one of the leading manufacturers of commercial mowing and turf maintenance equipment, based at Ipswich in Suffolk.
The Highway 3 has been fitted with 8-blade Sport floating head cutting units which follow the undulations in the 120 acres of maintained turf and gardens on the estate.
Paul Thompson, the deputy grounds and garden manager for the past 4 years, is part of the 10 person team responsible the 900 acres of formal gardens, lawns and parkland that includes the renowned safari park.
"I have used Ransomes product previously, mainly during the years I worked for Swale Borough Council in Faversham," he said. "Ransomes has a very good reputation in our industry and their products are well built and reliable. The Marquess demands immaculate presentation and we get this from the Highway 3. It has proper floating heads, by which I mean they cope with the undulations brilliantly, providing a superb finish without scalping."
