Ransomes Presence at Six Nations Championships

Ransomes Jacobsen products will feature significantly at the forthcoming RBS 6 Nations Rugby championships with equipment from the Ipswich based manufacturer being used to prepare the playing surfaces at Murrayfield, Lansdowne Road and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Lansdowne Road in Dublin is the oldest of the world's international grounds and has hosted Ireland's matches since 1878. The old ground may be on its last legs, but the atmosphere inside the 55,000 capacity stadium has unnerved many teams who have played there. Again it's Ransomes Mastiffs together with Jacobsen Tri-King triple mowers that are used to prepare the pitch providing the magnificently striped playing surface that is seen by television viewers around the globe.

Although the only item of Ransomes equipment at the stunning Millennium Stadium in Cardiff is an ageing Mastiff pedestrian mower, the Welsh Rugby Union's pre-match training facility at the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel and Golf Club is maintained by a whole raft of Ransomes Jacobsen equipment.

David Withers, Sales and Marketing Director at Ransomes Jacobsen says, "With England as world champions there's extra spice in this year's championship as the other teams will be undoubtedly want to push them as far as possible. The outcome of the Wales v France match in Cardiff as well as the Scotland v England game at Murrayfield will have a bearing on who wins the championship. At least we know that the playing and training surfaces will be prepared to the very highest of standards."
