Scotsturf - Great for Etesia
Just back from Scotsturf - Etesia reports that there are no signs of a downturn in business opportunities North of the Border "In fact, this year we received more enquiries than ever before - particularly for our LK 53cm pedestrian rotary and our range of Hydro anti-clog ride-on mowers." says UK General Manager, Les Malin. He believes one reason for this is the wet summer followed by an autumn when the grass just kept growing and growing - end users are looking for machines to cope with these lush mowing conditions.
"Traditionally our pedestrian mowers have been best sellers with local authorities in Scotland ordering the 46cm models literally in their hundreds! The proven track record of these rotaries for high output, low vibrations, reliability and minimum downtime is leading professionals to look at the unique features of other models in our range."
Powered by a 6hp Kawasaki engine, the special feature of Etesia's LK-Pro53 pedestrian is its innovative easy-to-use gearless, hydraulically operated, drive system which ensures smooth and positive take-up or disengagement over three completely separate forward driving 'zones'. The 'zone' selected relates to mowing conditions in short, medium or very long grass, or on banks up to 30 degrees.
Infinitely variable speed gives the operator total control for safety and comfort, particularly on downhill slopes where it acts as a brake. LK-Pro53 has an 85 litre grassbox but, Etesia's unique domed-deck design ensures it performs equally as well in mulching or cut and drop mode, especially on thick, lush vegetation.
Ride-on mowers on Etesia's stand at Scotsturf attracted interest from new prospects - mainly contractors. All models in the 124cm Hydro124 and 100cm Hydro100 rotary ranges feature combined direct rear-ejection and integrated collection to ensure high productivity without clogging, even in wet or long grass. There are high-tip or ground- emptying options all with hydrostatic drive providing variable cutting speeds in both forward and reverse. Ergonomically designed for operator comfort and easy manoeuvrability, Etesia's Hydro rotaries have a well-earned reputation for high output, reliability, minimum downtime plus low noise levels. Fuel options include diesel, bio-diesel and petrol.
Scotsturf visitors on the hunt for a high output ride-on narrow enough to pass through a standard gateway discovered that Etesia's Hydro 80, 80cm rotary is the only machine on the market narrow enough to reach awkward to access sites where others cannot go. It is easily transported in a truck or trailer. Quality-built for reliability in tough working conditions, Hydro 80 cuts and collects on lawns, paddocks and rough grass - it also collects leaves and litter.
asy to operate, heavy-duty hydrostatic transmission provides forward and reverse-drive, cutting and collecting in both directions. This ride-on is highly manoeuvrable when mowing round obstacles. Its low centre of gravity and even weight distribution ensures stability on slopes and the wheels' size minimises turf marking. The 240 litre grass box is emptied from the driving position and single lever cutting height adjustment is variable. Other options include cut and drop, mulching or side discharge. Power comes from a 15hp Kawasaki which during 2009 will be available with an environmentally friendly LPG fuel option.
