Scottish football gets behind proposals for summer football
Scottish football yesterday warmed to Gordon Smith and his call for a long winter break.
Given it was the coldest day of the year so far with temperatures plunging below zero his timing couldn't have been better.
SFA chief executive Smith wants our football to shut down over January and February then play on through to June.
Record Sport canvassed all sides of the game - from league officials to managers and fans - and all agreed Smith was on the ball.
