Areas such as the academy practice range and the nine hole Balgrove Course had been used for a tented village and contractor compound, leaving the ground in a bit of a mess. Yesterday, the St Andrews Greenkeepers released a new blog to highlight how much work went into renovating these areas once The Open had done with them.

Detailing the processes of seed drilling, cutting down, clearing the area and even the use of a magnet to pick up all debris, the blog makes for an interesting read, highlighting the key issues with recovering these areas after intensive usage.
