newburgh Ransomes Jacobsen's dealer for Scotland, Fairways GM, is experiencing strong sales in Aberdeenshire with recent sales successes to golf clubs in Newmachar, Fraserburgh and Alford. Continuing this success is the recent delivery of new equipment to Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Club. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Club was founded in 1888 and was originally a 9-hole course. In 1994 new land was purchased to the south and the course was extended to a challenging 18 holes, opening in April 1996. Membership has grown steadily over the years and in 2001 former Open Champion Paul Lawrie opened the new clubhouse.

James Peace is head greenkeeper and has a team of three to manage the 6373 yard, par 72 course. This year he has added a Jacobsen Tri-King tees and surrounds mower, an Iseki TG5390 tractor and a Cushman Turf-Truckster with several accessories including a mounted Turfco WideSpin 1530 top dresser, a Ryan Core Harvester and a Gambetti sprayer.

"The new equipment will certainly help enhance the presentation of the course," James said. "The Tri-King is an excellent mower with high visibility of the front units, crucial when mowing around bunker edges. The Cushman Turf-Truckster is a great utility vehicle and when mated with the Widespin it makes a highly manoeuvrable top dresser, ideal for tight greens. With the sprayer and core harvester it's a versatile workhorse."
