Aimed specifically at the commercial turf market the new models, the JX90C and JX90CB are ideal for mowing football or rugby pitches.

Speaking about the new range, Dan Barber, territory manager at John Deere said: "The new range is specifically designed to deliver the best results for professional use. The JX90C and JX90CB are tough yet easy to handle offering excellent operator comfort and safety features."

They each have a 57cm (21") steel reinforced cast aluminium mowing deck with John Deere's TurboStar fan assisted mowing system and are powered by a Kawasaki 6.5hp petrol engine.

The 80-litre capacity grass collection bag, with bag-full indicator, has been improved for easier handling and emptying. Height of cut adjustment is between 17mm (0.6") and 85mm (3.3").

John Deere's patented anti-vibration system - AVS - is fitted as standard on the handlebars of both machines. This features vibration-absorbing elements on each side of the handlebar to reduce operator exposure and fatigue. They meet the latest EU and HSE directors on operator safety and allow longer periods of use.JX90CB walk-behind mower A.jpg

They have large steel wheels for easier operation over difficult terrain and a new steel control unit. Both models offer operating speeds between 1.6 and 3.4 mph and the JX90CB has a built-in blade/brake safety clutch. This disengages the mower blade but keeps the engine running when, for example, the operator is emptying the grass bag and eliminates the need to keep restarting the engine.

Angus Lindsay of Glendale, which provide specialist green services to local authorities, the public and private sector, said: "Its important for commercial machines not only to withstand rigorous mowing conditions, but also to be safe and comfortable for operator use.

"Following initial trials we have found that the John Deere rear rotary mowers are extremely popular with operators across the country. In addition to being of strong construction they produce low vibration levels ensuring that work can be achieved safely and efficiently," he added.
