Toro Reelmaster for Surrey University

PR4045 Surrey Sports Park2Surrey Sports Park, part of the University of Surrey in Guildford, has invested in a new Toro Reelmaster 7000-D wide-area-cut mower to tend to its world-class sports pitches.

Horticultural and landscape manager Nigel Hodge says that the sports park bought its first Toro mower some 25 years ago, and has built up its fleet of mowers and associated machinery ever since.

But Nigel says that the arrival of a cylinder mower has resulted in an improved quality of cut - something that's vital to a venue that draws both national and international elite athletes to its training facilities, and attracts events such as the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup.

PR4045 Surrey Sports Park1"The Reelmaster 7000-D was the natural choice for us when we decided to upgrade to a cylinder mower," says Nigel. "Unlike tractor-drawn mowers, it's self propelled and you can get it out on the ground in winter without causing compaction. We also like the variable number of clips per square metre. It covers the ground so well and has improved overall cut and ground quality."
