Real Madrid, Liverpool FC and London Wasps are all past European Champions playing on DD GrassMaster and now Desso can add Leicester Tigers to that impressive list of clients. Work is now well under way at Oval Park, the training ground for Leicester Tigers, for whom Hewitt Sportsturf have prepared their main training pitch, ready for the injection of the DD GrassMaster system.
The club originally explored the feasibility of training on a fully artificial 3rd generation system but the benefits of playing on a re-inforced natural grass system, DD GrassMaster, far outweighed converting the pitch to artificial grass. Not least, the system allows over 1000 hours usage per season whilst still being a totally natural pitch - giving the best of both worlds to players and coaches alike.
Whilst London Wasps, London Irish and Saracens already play their Premiership fixtures on DD GrassMaster, the pitch at Oval Park will be the first training facility installed in the UK. For clubs and associations who need the durability of artificial grass whilst maintaining a natural grass pitch, DD GrassMaster could well be the answer, and with over 15 stadiums now incorporating DD GrassMaster in the UK, the time might now be right to move this into the training grounds where the usage is that much heavier.
