Smallest of the latest Shockwaves is the 1.6 metre 'Dual-Drive' unit with a maximum working depth of 38cm (15in). Blades last for up to 55ha when run at depths of 25cm (10in)! Tractor hp requirement for the 1.6metre is 60-80hp. Rear mounted smoothroller and 'Sensi-touch' hydraulic depth adjustment are standard fittings.

Big brother to the 1.6 metre machine is the 2.2 metre 'Power' Shockwave with an increased working depth of 55cm (21in). " It was designed and developed for the contractor market and is able to cope with the toughest conditions day in, day out", says Felix Peters, MD of Imants. It comesimantsbigmachine.jpg

Flagship of the Shockwave decompactor range is the 2.5metre 'Power Plus' model. This machine was recently demonstrated in Holland where it effortlessly completed 4ha of work in 8 hours at full working depth of 55cm (21in). The demonstration was held on several very compacted football pitches showing meter readings of 450 -800psi. After one pass with the 2.5 metre Shockwave, compaction levels were reduced to 150-200psi! Research in the USA has shown that compacted soil levels measuring over 300psi can seriously inhibit grass root growth and plant establishment, as well as substantially reducing beneficial microbial activity in the soil.

Imants have already sold 8 of the new 2.5 metre Shockwaves in Holland to large amenity contractors. When run at depths of 25cm (10in), Imants claim blade longevity is an amazing 100ha! Equipped with the rear mounted smoothroller and 'Sensi-touch' hydraulic depth adjustment as standard, the mighty 2.5metre 'Power Plus' Shockwave will be exhibited on the Imants stand at Saltex 2003. Tractor requirement is 120-140hp.
