Fast and Efficient deep aerator for Castle Royle Golf and Country Club.

Allan Collis, Course Manager at The Club Company's Castle Royle Golf & Country Club has recently taken delivery of a Wiedenmann Terra Spike XF deep aerator for his 18-hole links-style course set in the rolling Berkshire countryside near Reading.

"We're renowned here for being open all year round", said Allan, "and that's due to the commitment of the team and our planned maintenance regime which includes an intensive aeration programme.

"The XF, which we purchased from local dealer TH White, is the latest and quickest machine from Wiedenmann and I've taken the option of having it fitted with hydraulic depth control, which means we can adjust the depth to suit the ground conditions while on the move. I've also included a set of multi-tine heads with 5mm and 8mm needle tines which increases the machines versatility."

Allan is also Area Co-ordinator for The Club Company's other courses in the region and the XF will also be used at the group's nearby Mapledurham club.

"We are going to work the XF reasonably hard", he continued, "Because of its productivity we can share it with our sister club and derive additional benefit from the one machine.

"Initially, I'll continue to use our old machine on the fairways and use the XF on the greens and approaches. Its 1.6 metre working width makes it ideal for these applications."
