The name will be familiar to many of you, as Lee has had a long and varied career to date which means he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the turfcare industry to the role.

Lee's journey started at Haydock Park Golf Club where he completed his apprenticeship before becoming Assistant Greenkeeper. From there, he joined Manchester City Football Club as Assistant Groundsman and was later promoted to Head Groundsman of the training ground which, back then, was based in Carrington.

After a brief spell for a contractor, looking after schools in Leigh, Bolton and Wigan, Lee missed football and found a new opportunity in Oldham Athletic AFC where he became Head Groundsman after just two years. The role evolved into Grounds Manager and Stadium & Facilities Manager and Lee has passionately carried out this vast remit for nearly five years.

Lee commented: "As well as my groundsman background, I have also worked in sales on and off throughout my career, which has given me a vast spectrum of products and techniques and a good amount of contacts."

"I have been given a great opportunity to do something totally different and I look forward to meeting and interviewing groundsman and greenkeepers promote our great industry. I feel very passionate about the new challenge, and I'm excited about making the transition from being the man on the ground, to sharing knowledge and information from venues around the country."
