Midlothian Council take delivery of new triple mowers
The Land Services Department at Midlothian Council has purchased seven new ride-on mowers from local dealer, Fairways GM of Kinross. The new machines are Ransomes Parkway triple reel mowers and will be used across the region to help maintain public parks and open spaces within housing schemes.
Justin Venton, Operations Manager at Land Services commented, "We run a fleet of 10 Parkways and this is part of a rolling renewal programme to upgrade the fleet. The reasons that we opt for the Parkway are simple; reliability and finish. We have very few problems during the lifetime of the machines and the quality of cut is excellent. We also have five Ransomes Hydraulic 5 gang mowers on our fleet and they utilise the same cutting cylinders as the Parkways. This makes them ideal for the larger open spaces."
This latest contract is the result of a sustained sales and marketing initiative by Fairways GM, Ransomes Jacobsen's new dealer for Scotland. From an almost standing start they have made excellent progress with local authorities at the beginning of the 2005 season. Recent contracts have been won with Dundee City Council, West Lothian Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Angus Council and Edinburgh City Council.
