Dennis are set for another bumper year in 2006, with growing order books, an expanding worldwide customer base and new machines for imminent launch.

One major municipal order recently came from Leeds City Council, who have taken nearly 70 Dennis FT mowers - versatile machines that accept interchangeable cassettes to undertake other essential tasks like verti-cutting and scarifying.

"We are building global markets and are participating in a trade exhibition in Poland to attract new business in Eastern Europe. This will, in turn, lead to new distributor appointments," says Ian Howard.

The company's latest product developments include the Sport Ultra. A prototype was shown at IOG Saltex last September. Derived from the Sport Mk2 mower, the 22in (560mm) cutting width unit has a groomer fitted between the front roller and cylinder to reduce thatch and give faster greens. To minimise the wheelbase, the tungsten tipped blades are interlocking with the grooved front roller design, enhancing performance on undulating turf. An improved height of cut adjustment system, the 'click' system familiar to FT users, allows for tool-free alterations in 0.5mm increments.

"The Sport Ultra has attracted much positive comment and feedback, and we will be officially launching the machine shortly," says Ian Howard. "This again shows the care we take in ensuring our machines meet end users' specific requirements."

"For turf professionals at home and abroad, the choice is Dennis," says Ian Howard.
