Leamington and County Golf Club have upgraded their turf maintenance fleet with the recent purchase of new tees and fairway mowers. This latest round of purchasing is part of a five year preferred supplier agreement with local turf dealer TH White Ltd.
Since his appointment at Leamington in January 2000, head green keeper Jason Cooper has been upgrading and improving the playing facilities at the long established members club. During this period he has remodelled the bunkers, upgraded and replaced almost all of the turf maintenance equipment and recently installed fairway drainage
Commenting on the recent additions to the fleet Jason said,
"Since coming to Leamington I've received excellent support from the club, who have readily agreed with my proposals for a flexible, rolling replacement programme. For this season we have added a Jacobsen GPlex III for tees and surrounds and an LF-3800 fairway machine, to complement the other equipment from the Ransomes Jacobsen stable. The GPlex III will provide us with a better cut and improve overall presentation, while the LF-3800 is fully specified with heated cab and rear roller brushes. We did look at competitor fairway mowers, but the LF's cutting reels are more robust and has superior ground following capabilities.
"Also, the support from TH White has been excellent. They've been there for us 100%; from initial sale to installation, training and spare part supply. We have recently agreed a planned maintenance schedule that will be initiated this season and that will allow the greenkeeping team to focus on their core responsibilities knowing that the equipment is in top condition."
