SIOBHAN HARPER has been appointed marketing manager of the IOG (Institute of Groundsmanship). Working from the Institute's head office in Milton Keynes, Siobhan, 29, has a background in industrial and retail marketing.

She joins the IOG from Statoil, a Norwegian-based international company, where she was marketing consultant. Siobhan, a graduate of the University of Manchester, previously worked with the Perry Group in the motor industry and for the Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce as brand manager.

She has wide experience of working with membership organisations including the Major Energy Users' Council and the Institute of Energy. Says Siobhan: "I am delighted to be joining the IOG and look forward to the challenge ahead. I intend to build on the positive work that has already been done, combined with the introduction of new initiatives to strengthen areas key to the Institute's development. These initiatives will include membership, the local and regional branch networks, training and education - and continued efforts to enhance the profile of Groundstaff."

Siobhan is married to Rowland, a sales manager, and they have two daughters, Polly and Ruby.

Patrick Gosset, chief executive of the IOG, said: "We are pleased to welcome Siobhan on board. Her experience will be a major asset to the organisation."

Siobhan Harper can be contacted on 01908 312511 or e-mail: sharper@iog.org
