So when Dumfries and Galloway Council were looking for four mowing machines for cemetery maintenance in the Stewartry District, the National 8400 was high on their list of possibilities.

The next step was for Dumfries & Galloway to conduct their own full body with Hand Arm vibration tests on the mowers. A successful result for the National machines, together with ease of use and favourable comments from the operators clinched the deal and the order was won.

Early reports state that the fully floating cutting heads and hydrostatic transmission of the 84in cut (251cm) machines are particularly useful in a cemetery situation where uneven ground and tight manoeuvring is encountered.

Dumfries & Galloway Land & Street Services Officer, Andrew Currie, commented, "We were impressed with the performance and the operator friendly aspects of the 8400, the buying decision was an easy one to make on this occasion."

The National 8400 is powered by a 16hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine and is one of the range of National triple mowers marketed in the UK by Allen Power Equipment Limited.
