Volvo display new range of excavators at Windsor Show
EC15B, EC20B, EC25, EC30, EC35 and the EC45.
According to Didier Lavigne, product manager for compact excavators, the new colour options allow customers to match their own company colours for a uniform, personalized look without any additional expense. "Colour is a very personal choice, and we want our customers to get exactly what they want," Didier Lavigne stated. "This gives them a factory finish that will retain its appearance for years to come. And, for a limited time, it is available as a standard item."
The free colour choice offer is available for a limited time. Check with your local Volvo Compact Equipment dealer for more information on programme length and participation.

Volvo Construction Equipment introduces its new 1.2 Ton Model EC13 Compact Excavator, made specifically for the self drive, small contractor and DIY markets offering high performance in a small package.
There are two versions of the EC13 available: the XR, which has a fixed 95 cm undercarriage and a one-speed transmission; and the XTV, which has a 95 to 130 cm variable width undercarriage and a two-speed transmission.
The Model EC13 is also available with a long or short arm - providing dig depths ranging from 2100 mm for the short arm to 2250 mm for the long arm. It has a 14.0 kW (19.0 HP) engine. Volvo began working on the EC13 in 1999 with a series of customer testing clinics to determine what was needed in the market.
According to Didier Lavigne, Product Manager for Compact Excavators, "We found that new entrants into the 1.5 T class were actually getting heavier and heavier - some as high as 1.7 Tonnes and 1.8 Tonnes.
This situation was running contrary to the original purpose for this size of machine - namely, the ability to transport it easily. Larger machines actually cause transport overload problems, and customers said they needed a dedicated truck and trailer to handle them."
Mr. Lavigne said Volvo wanted a machine that met the customer's needs, yet didn't compromise the quality, safety and productivity of the machine. "We essentially had to build this machine from scratch - and in so doing, we created a new market segment," he said.
The EC13 is also fitted with a load sensing hydraulic circuit providing total independence for each movement. Load sensing makes the machine easier to operate, even for a beginner or occasional operator. The EC13 has many safety features, such as a full ROPS/FOPS/TOPS canopy and full locking of all controls, including the boom, blade, travel, and attachment whenever the operator leaves the seat. In addition, the machine may be fitted with an optional anti-theft coded keypad, and anti-vandalism protection for the control panel.

VOLVO INTRODUCES THE EC55B COMPACT EXCAVATOR, WHICH OFFERS NEW LEVELS OF POWER AND PERFORMANCE
Volvo Construction Equipment introduces the new EC55B compact excavator, a machine that offers one of the best digging forces in its class and has a powerful new engine for top performance. The new 5 tonne EC55B is making its UK debut at this year's Saltex exhibition, Windsor, Berks.
The 16-valve, 3.0 cubic litre 37 kW engine offers plenty of power and torque, while providing low fuel consumption. The direct injection also helps reduce emissions and noise levels. The EC55B has a large, roomy cab with a flat, uncluttered floor and a fully adjustable seat and boasts the largest cab for this size of excavator on the market. The controls are power-assisted for smooth, precise movements for delicate digging.
In addition, the windscreen features a gas strut, making it easy to open and prop in place. It also has tinted windows and standard air conditioning with five vents for efficient cooling. There is outstanding visibility all around the machine thanks to the large glass area and offset boom.
The machine is sturdy to handle heavy digging applications. The undercarriage is an X-shaped pattern for better load distribution, and it's long giving outstanding stability, comfort and performance. The EC55B provides easy access to all critical service checkpoints through the wide rear cover. And there are long service intervals to help minimize downtime. The EC55B has a full ROPS/FOPS/TOPS cab.
In addition, the machine won't start unless the console and safety lever are in the right position, and the controls lock out whenever
The inside noise level is just 78 dB and the outside noise level is 98 dB.
