ALTERNATIVE FUEL SEMINAR AT ERNEST DOE ANNUAL SHOW
By Peter Driver
The seminar, at the company's head office in Ulting, Essex, was organised by the Grass Machinery division and presented by Richard Comely, Ransomes Jacobsen's product manager for alternative energy products.
In his presentation he explored the merits of a variety of fuels that offer alternatives to carbon based petrol and diesel, looking at the benefits and drawbacks of electric power, LPG, CNG, LNG and Bio diesel.
He also touched on new legislation that will be introduced in the near future and some of the organisations that are actively promoting
Andy Turbin, General Sales Manager, Doe's Grass Machinery Division said,
"Our annual show is now in it's 47th year and features all our products across agriculture, construction and professional grass care. We felt it was an ideal opportunity for us to promote the use of alternative energy to our clients in the turf management sector, as new directives and legislation from the EC and national and local governments will affect many of them.
It is important to share our thinking and expertise in order to raise the awareness of the use of alternative fuels as it is a subject that will affect both municipalities and contractors, and probably sooner than they appreciate."
