January Bowls Diary 2004
By Jon Buddington
Remove dew from grass leaves by daily switching or brushing of the surface. If you have a favoured daily route for this job, please try to alternate as not to produce a nap on the green.
Any weak areas of germination should be lightly hand forked to allow surface moisture to disperse.
After the recent snow cover, disease may have developed so check thoroughly for early signs. After heavy frost, the green will not look its best. Do not be tempted to over feed.
Keep drainage channels free of fallen leaves and weeds.
Check machinery for cold day starting.
